Doing nothing on a Sunday after getting a haircut, I decided to turn on the boob tube. And, voila, every Filipino's favorite afternoon showbiz talk show is on--The Buzz!
It isn't really my idea of Sunday fun but since I'm bored to death, I chose to stay tune anyway. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a showbiz person nor am I a fan of any local personalities, except Marc Nelson maybe (who isn't?), but nevertheless the topic had me hooked in front of the screen. And geez, for the first time after several days of it being in the news, I was able to hear the full story of Rudy Fernandez beating the shit out of Robbie Taroza. Literally!
It's a long story how it all started. But to make it short, Rudy and his team were on their way to Japan with a tourist visa to perform for some Filipino audience. Allegedly, Robbie and Joed Serrano were jealous of the fact that one of their talents are going without their explicit permission. And so they wrote the embassy and informed whoever that some Filipinos are planning to put on a show without the appropriate visa. So upon reaching their destination, the whole party got deported... Oh yes, airport to aiport.

Hahaha! I could just die laughing right about now.

Upon coming back, Rudy decided that he has an axe to grind with the two. He went to their office at Tektite with his little gun at hand and confronted Robbie. But Robbie was such a diva and spoke to Rudy with a big A (attitude, dahlings). And that's when his nuts got busted.
It's just surprising that people like Rudy Fernandez has the guts to justify his violence by telling everybody on national TV that he was just provoked because Robbie was plain arrogant. For crying out loud, Rudy, you mauled the guy to the point of being unrecognizable. To think that the guy didn't even fight back (Rudy had a gun, remember?) and was even begging you to stop. And whose side is the network on? I would love to think that the network would at least be unbiased with their opinion, but their footages are portraying Rudy as some sort of a hero even after beating the guy black and blue.
Poor Robbie. Good thing his Knight In His Shining Armor (Joed Serrano) was there earlier during the show professing his love for the guy on air. And I didn't know they're real life partners. Heck, I didn't even know they're gay!
Another case of gay bashing? And so this becomes a vendetta. I have two points. First, the party who went to Japan for a show only had a tourist visa. When you're on a tourist visa, you're supposed to T-O-U-R and not W-O-R-K. If your ass gets sent back to your native land because you will violate some foreign country's law, that serves you right. Second, in the silverscreen, Rudy's behavior would be fantastic with the action stunts and all. In real life, that's V-I-O-L-E-N-C-E. Beating the helpless guy beyond recognition earns you the right to remain silent and everything you say
SHOULD and will be taken against you. Hope you rot in jail!
I love The Buzz. I think I got enough dose of telenovela for one day. That should be enough.
